DECEMBER 27, 2002
Added info to Corran's biography from Iron Fist and Solo Command. Although I am reading those books, don't expect reviews up for awhile, as I think I might do something else involving Allston's books first. As for Corran's biography itself, I am thinking that one of these days I will reorganize the existing info in a slightly different manner. Anyway, I hope everyone had a great holiday and will have a great New Year!
DECEMBER 16, 2002
This is one update I was wondering if I'd ever get around to doing. Remember way back in February when I said I'd have a review of Wraith Squadron up in just a few days? Ten months later, I make good on my promise. Go check it out and see if it was worth waiting ten months for.
Added info on Destiny's Way to Book Listings.
Deleted link to Don's Custom Star Wars Toy Page from Related Links page. It appears to no longer exist.
NOVEMBER 25, 2002
Wow, what do you know? I got around to doing an update. This is one that has been long in coming, too. I finally got back to some of my GenCon stuff, and now have all my pictures up. Some of them were there before, but now look better, whereas others are never-before-seen. Go check them out!
Someday I will get up the report for Day Two of the Con, as well as more chapters in Luney's story.
OCTOBER 12, 2002
Been busy around here, so haven't been doing much stuff computer-related lately. That is, not much computer-related stuff that doesn't have to do with the class I'm taking. Anyway, I have finally gotten around to coding some fanfic that's been sitting in my email for a few weeks now. Anthony Adler has been very patient while waiting for me to get up the next two chapters of X-Wing: Pirates Fall and his The Empire Strikes Back parody, entitled Black Sun Strikes Back. I'll try to get another update in before the year ends.
SEPTEMBER 15, 2002
First I'd like to give an update on the stuff I've been promising for the last few updates now. Diana DeRiggs, after some thinking, has decided to withdraw her story for the time being, but may decide to resubmit it at a later date. She wants to play with it some more. As for the GenCon report and new pictures, I have no excuse. I just haven't done them yet. However, I did feel the urge to review Tales from the Empire. I am still intending to do in-depth reviews of the two Corran stories from that book, though. Someday.
I have also revised my Links page. With the closing of JediTalk, I figured it was time to see what other links were no longer in service. Other links removed: NewsDroid (temporarily down for repairs, but I don't think it'll be returning) and the one to the Concept Lightsaber (has been down for awhile). Unless I find its new home, Don's Custom Star Wars Toy Page may be the next fatality. I also changed some of the descriptions for the links already there.
SEPTEMBER 3, 2002
Sorry, folks, it's not the GenCon report or Diana's story, but they are coming. I also have my roll of film developed, so there will be more pictures going up for the GenCon 2002 Pictures section. For now, though, you will have to content yourselves with an essay I spewed out concerning Corran's roles as a CorSec officer, a Rogue pilot, and a Jedi Knight. Those planning to read Corran's Best Role, however, should be warned that there are spoilers for everything including the Enemy Lines duology.
Info on Rebel Stand added to Book Listings.
AUGUST 21, 2002
Wow, a lot has happened between the last update and now. First, as you have probably already noticed, I posted the results of my Plea for Help. Second, I attended GenCon 2002 and had a wonderful time. I have posted the report from my first day there and the pictures from the entire Con.
A word on my Con reports and pictures. When you go to look at these, you may notice that they are on a different server than idcnet. This is because I am afraid of using up all of my idcnet web space with graphics that are tangentially related to the main theme of this page, the Halcyons/Horns. Therefore I have chosen to move all GenCon materials to a different server. I'd like to thank my mother for generously donating her unused web space for this purpose.
Coming soon: GenCon 2002 Day Two report (including details on the lunch with Mike Stackpole) and a story by Diana DeRiggs. Promise.
JULY 9, 2002
Anthony Adler takes a break from his X-Wing: Pirates Fall series to bring us A Tale of Revenge, featuring Corran and Booster having to rescue Mirax and Valin from a person from Corran's past.
JUNE 29, 2002
Added Vertigo by Mara Jade in Fanfiction. Hers is set post-Ithor and deals with Corran's thoughts on the subject. I just love the way that every author who has written on this subject has a slightly different take on Corran. One can never get bored that way. 8)
JUNE 27, 2002
Added my Plea for Help on the main page. Not sure if I should change the colors for the fanfiction or not, so I am trying to get input before I go through all the work and then decide it worked better the way it is right now.
JUNE 25, 2002
Fresh blood has joined the growing list of fanfiction authors represented here at Corran Central. Corran and Mirax discuss a certain loss and not only what it means to them personally, but what it means to the whole galaxy in Iella's Soon, Then. Spoilers all the way through Rebel Dream.
JUNE 20, 2002
Posted the chat transcript.
JUNE 19, 2002
Posted a thank you to everyone who attended the Aaron Allston chat. Seriously, I mean every word of what I said there.
JUNE 17, 2002
Chapters 24-27 of Luney's Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten are now up. Families get together, identities are uncovered, and people fight with lightsabers. What more do you want? Oh, yeah, if that's not enough for you, you could always come to the chat with Aaron Allston, only two days away.
JUNE 9, 2002
Stareyes has an anime version of Corran and Mirax up. Check it out. It is really cute. Also added bullets to each entry of the Pictures page; hope this makes it easier to see what is up there.
JUNE 6, 2002
Chapter 23 of Luney's Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten is posted. More chapters forthcoming soon.
JUNE 5, 2002
I added a total of one sentence to the Aaron chat info. I'm directing people to take a look at Aaron's FAQ so we can avoid repeating some questions he's already answered quite a few times.
JUNE 3, 2002
All chat information is now up. Mainly I added instructions for those who are choosing to use the Java client to connect to the chat. Hoping to see you all there on the 19th.
MAY 27, 2002
Not too long ago I ran across a quiz online that was supposed to tell you how obsessed with Star Wars you were. Well, I scored a little bit lower than I thought I would, so was inspired to write my own version of the quiz with a slant towards fans of the Expanded Universe. Yes, there is a bias towards anyone who is a fan of the X-wing series. Go check it out in my vault.
MAY 21, 2002
Major revision on the Fanfiction page today. It was starting to look entirely too cluttered, so what I did is give each author his or her section, or vault, as I call it, and moved his or her stories into the appropriate vault.
Added Chapter Four of Anthony Adler's X-Wing: Pirates Fall.
Also added 140 KPH, the latest humorous effort from Susan Hill.
MAY 20, 2002
Aaron chat info is now posted. Go here to find out everything you wanted to know about the upcoming June 19 chat.
MAY 18, 2002
Luney's ongoing piece Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten has two new chapters as Lainey's past begins to come clearer into focus. In the next few days (ok, could be another week...) expect another chapter from Anthony Adler's story and more information on the Aaron Allston chat next month. And if you haven't seen Episode II yet, what are you waiting for? After reading Luney's new chapters, go to your local theater and watch it!
MAY 6, 2002
Have a chapter a piece from two different, but familiar, fanfic authors for your perusal. First is Chapter Three of Anthony Adler's story X-wing: Pirates Fall.
When you're finished with that, go check out Chapter Ten of Shadow Chaser's AU post-NJO series Aftermath: Ruse of Rogues.
MAY 3, 2002
Romance and revelations occur at the State Dinner in Chapters 18-20 in Luney's story Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten.
Posted the Corran and Ganner picture from the New Jedi Order Sourcebook. Thanks to Nick "Nom Anor" Hess from theforce.net's literature forum for helping me out with the identity of the artist, Scott Fischer. Interesting enough, I went to school with a guy named Scott Fischer. I doubt if it's the same one.
Finally, I posted up a listing of every book a Halcyon, Horn, or Terrik has appeared in. I have had many emails wondering about this very topic, so this should answer a lot of those questions. Slight summaries of each book, short story, or comic are also there. Thanks to Julie Hammond for supplying me the Issue numbers for some of the Adventure Journals.
APRIL 30, 2002
Excellent news today, as I'm sure you saw if you went to the Main Page. I'm finally able to put up the preliminary details of the upcoming Aaron Allston chat. I feel very honored to be a part of this whole thing. So please, pencil June 19 into your calendars and be prepared to talk about Rebel Dream and Rebel Stand!
APRIL 28, 2002
Today I have three pictures from The New Essential Guide to Characters. All three are by Michael Sutfin, and all three are truly exquisite. I daresay that he has drawn the quintessential Corran. He is the first professional artist that has truly captured him. I cannot say enough good things about this. And it doesn't hurt that Dan Wallace's bio for Corran was very well done. I haven't had a chance to read all of Booster's yet, but what little I skimmed over looked good as well. "But where are the pictures?" I hear you asking. Here's one of Corran. Here's one I like to think of as Corran Horn, Intergalactic Man of Mystery. And here's the one of Booster.
Thanks to Crushman5, I also am able to identify the other two ships in No Questions Asked. The one on the left is the Wild Karrde and the one in the middle is Dash Rendar's Outrider.
APRIL 22, 2002
Couple of things for you today. First, Corran goes dress shopping in Chapter 17 of Lainey's Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten, found in Stories.
I also have a new submission for the Fanart section. Check out Ken O'Rourke's rendition of Corran and Whistler today!
APRIL 12, 2002
Lainey continues to discover her talents in Chapters 15 and 16 of Luney's story, Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten.
APRIL 2, 2002
Things should be all back to normal here. To celebrate the return to Corran, I have Chapters 12-14 of Luney's story Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten.
MARCH 31, 2002
Calm your racing hearts, Corran fans! I have not lost my senses. All is not as it may appear. Consider the date. Think of what date follows the date on which this update is being made. Not only the date, but the significance, at least in the United States, of said date. Regularly scheduled Corran activity, including new chapters in Luney's story, should recommence in a few days. Have a great April!
MARCH 26, 2002
Luney's story Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten continues in Chapters Ten and Eleven.
MARCH 25, 2002
Chapters 6-9 of Luney's Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten are now up in Stories. What will happen to our young Padawan now that she's awakened decades later? Read and see.
MARCH 21, 2002
The first five chapters of Luney's Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten are now up in Stories.
MARCH 20, 2002
Posted the Prologue to a new story to the site, Shadows of a Past Long Forgotten by Luney. I have about 20 chapters in hand right now, and she plans to write even more, so be prepared to be entertained for awhile.
MARCH 8, 2002
Chapter Nine of Shadow Chaser's story Aftermath: Ruse of Rogues is now up, as is a schematic of the Halberd Fighter from Anthony Adler's story X-wing: Pirates Fall, drawn by Anthony himself.
I'd also like to wish a belated happy birthday to Corran Horn. There's a long story behind it, but the members of alt.fan.wedge and I decided over a year ago that Corran's birthday is on March 6. Because I'm lazy and didn't get the update done, no mention was made of it until today.
FEBRUARY 18, 2002
It's been awhile since I last added anything to the page. Sorry about that. I'm listening to Staind, and I just had to start this out with the words "It's Been Awhile." I have one of the two items which I promised you last time. So, without further ado (or rambling from me), I would like to present Chapter 2 of Anthony Adler's story X-Wing: Pirates Fall. One of these days, I will get my Wraith Squadron review finished and posted.
FEBRUARY 5, 2002
Added an editorial called Rogue Vs. Wraith, which discusses my thoughts on the Rogue and Wraith Squadron books and the authors that wrote them. Stay tuned in the next few days for my review of Wraith Squadron and the next part of Anthony Adler's story X-Wing: Pirates Fall.
JANUARY 28, 2002
I know, I forgot to change the link on the main page before. Although this page was uploaded on the 13th, no one probably saw this because I still had the link directing everyone to last year's updates. Sorry.
I was browsing the The Official Star Wars page and was reading their bio for Corran. Well written, by the way, with only one big mistake, that being Hal's age when he had to change his name to Hal. Anyway, I noticed they had a height listed for him, so I have now included that with Corran's description.
Also added a bit to Keiran's bio from Family Ties or, if you prefer, the TPB Blood and Honor. Iella mentions a street named Halcyon at one point. I deduce it was named in honor of Keiran Halcyon, the one who ended the conflict between the Corellians and the Selonians centuries ago.
JANUARY 14, 2002
January is a month when a person may consider changing something in their lives or making a new start. Being reborn, as it may be. How fitting, then, that one of the first stories of the year is about a birth. Check out Resh's Valin and see what the days leading up to his birth might have been like.
JANUARY 13, 2002
The new year kicks off with the beginning of what looks to be an action-packed story by Anthony Adler. Check out his X-Wing: Pirates Fall.
