Kelly's Home Page

Hi. You have reached the home page of Kelly M. Grosskreutz. I am not here to take your call right now, but you shouldn't need to talk to me because everything is here. If you do, you may leave your message with the email address found at the bottom of my page.

Didn't think you'd encounter an answering machine on the internet, did you? Well, this is also the one and only place to see my personal web page. Since the majority of personal web pages start with a little bit of personal info, here's mine. I graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1998. I am currently employed as a substitute teacher, but am looking to get into secretarial work.

In my spare time, I like to read, write, bowl on my Thursday night league, listen to music, and hang out with friends both on and offline. To find out more about my interests, check out my links below.

My Own Creations

Kelly's Corran Horn Page AKA The Unofficial Official Corran Horn Page. This is the page I spend the majority of my time updating. It's completely dedicated to the Star Wars book character Corran Horn and those of his immediate family. Items to be found on this page include character bios, fanfiction, pictures, editorials, and reviews of various Star Wars books, comics, and short stories.

Kelly's Critiques Page This page features my reviews of various movies and television shows I have seen.

Kelly's Writings Page Stories having nothing to do with the Halcyon/Horn family that I wrote can be found here. This includes other Star Wars stories, Rush song parodies, Babylon 5 fanfic, Harry Potter fanfic, and even a few originals.

Music Links

Rush Quite simply the best band on the planet. If you have not heard these guys before, check them out immediately! Another decent Rush site can be found here.

Dream Theater Their music tends to fall somewhere between progressive rock and heavy metal. They are one of the few bands who have come out in the past 10-15 years who are almost as talented as Rush. Also a must-listen.

The Tea Party Unless you're from Canada, you probably have not heard of them. That's rather unfortunate. The easy way to describe them is by saying they sound like Led Zeppelin would have if Jim Morrison would have fronted them. I think their music is a little more unique than that.

Television Links

Babylon 5 This is my favorite show ever. It is currently being shown in Letterbox format on the SciFi channel and is also available on DVD. I suggest you watch it.

Due South A show featuring a Canadian Mountie partnered with a Chicago cop in Chicago, this show could be both dramatic and humorous at the same time. Currently not being shown on American television, but DVDs for the first two seasons are available to order from Canada.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 If you want to be able to watch really bad movies and yet be able to enjoy yourself immensely, check this out. Needs to be seen, maybe more than once, to be understood. Earlier shows may be purchased on video or DVD, and later shows can be caught on the SciFi channel.

Quantum Leap A long-running show that was actually allowed to come up with its own ending, unusual for television shows these days. This show can be caught on the SciFi channel, and the first season is now available on DVD. This page has some info, an episode guide, and some Quantum Leap fanfiction.

Red Dwarf This British show features a small crew of smegheads having adventures in space, trying to get back to Earth. Hilarious show. You might be able to find it on PBS if you're from the States. Otherwise it is available on video and DVD.

Space Rangers This show was extremely short-lived, but I came to like it a great deal. Go here to learn more about yet another show the networks felt they had to nix before anyone was even able to see it.

Harry Potter Sites

The Leaky Cauldron Gives up-to-date news and information about any happenings related to Harry Potter in some way.

Diagon Alley A page for slightly older Harry Potter fans. Has fanfiction and fan art, including a truly excellent comic book adaptation of Chapter One of the first Harry Potter book. In the process of being revamped, so some material might not be available at the moment.

FictionAlley The biggest grouping of Harry Potter fanfiction on the internet.

The Sugar Quill Another site dedicated to Harry Potter fanfiction.

Authors

Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman Coauthors of the Darksword series, the Death Gate series, and much of the Dragonlance series.

Stephen King I am in awe of how King can tie his books together. This is a link to his official page. I would also like to recommend to those who are fans of his Dark Tower series to check out this page, the best source for all things Dark Tower on the internet.

J. K. Rowling This page is maintained by the author of the Harry Potter books herself. She debunks rumors, keeps fans updated on her progress on the upcoming books, answer questions, and share fascinating tidbits on all things Harry Potter. Don't go here unless you have a lot of time, though, for there are Easter eggs hidden throughout the site that are worth hunting for.

Michael A. Stackpole Although I have a link to his page already in my Star Wars Links section, I feel he deserves another mention here. After all, it's not just his Star Wars books I like, although I do like those the best. Go here and see what else he has done.

Aaron Allston Aaron is also linked in my Star Wars Links section, but I do enjoy his other fiction.

JMS on Writing These are the archived posts that J. Michael Straczynski has made to various newsgroups and online sites about the writing process. If you are an aspiring writer, maybe this site can be of some help to you. This is not about Babylon 5, although JMS invariably makes references to that show when discussing his writing.

Humor

The Dark Tower - The Really Abridged Version - Hilarious flash cartoons of scenes from Stephen King's Dark Tower books. He eventually plans to do all seven books. If you like these books, you will love this site!

Diary of a Crazed Mimbanite Updated weekly, this comic revolves around Star Wars. A must read for anyone familiar with the Star Wars movies.

Dork Tower Homepage of the comic by John Kovalic that is written around science fiction fanatics, computer geeks, and roleplaying and computer gamers.

The Onion Great parody newspaper, updated weekly.

The Voyager MSTing Page This page contains MSTings of episodes of Star Trek: Voyager, a show well-deserving of the Mystery Science Theater treatment.

WWWF Grudge Match This page pits various pop culture icons in competitions fitting to their nature, and lets the readers of the page vote on who would win. Some of these will just make you laugh your head off! To see this page's current match-up, go down to the bottom and click on Current Match.

My Friends

Sabrina Fried I met Sabrina through the newsgroup alt.fan.wedge. This page is currently being revamped, but she does have some good Star Wars fanfiction available.

Janet Grosskreutz If the last name didn't ring any bells, this is my mother. She likes to create snowglobes and mandellas, among other things. Also on her page are pictures from MadMedia 5, a science fiction convention we attended a few years back.

Joe Writers Anonymous Web Page Although I am not a fan of GI Joe and have only seen two episodes of the show in my life, this page is run by two friends of mine, who like to go by Lissy B and Annie O. For those of you who are coming to this page from my Corran page or have read some of my Harry Potter fanfiction, yes, this is the same Lissy, indulging her other passion. On this page, Lissy is also known as Cross Country Girl.

Shatterstar Cantina This is a page run by a couple of friends of mine, Susan Hill and Cris Cramer. Although mainly devoted to archiving their excellent Star Wars stories, they have (or will have) a section telling about themselves as well.

Wookieehut This site, focusing primarily on Star Wars and Harry Potter, is run by Diana DeRiggs, her husband, and a few others. They are just yet another example of friends of mine who need to make a personal web page.
